What's for Dinner, Sun., April 17, 2016

We're starting off with cheese and wine. We will have the two cheeses the RG chose with Judy's bread, which is the most wonderful baguette in the world. It's made with butter!

A salad with citrus-based vinaigrette. It has endive, chopped celery, carrots, and toasted almonds.

The entree is pork with cheese melted over it. It also has toasted pine nuts on top. It is so tender.

For dessert, tea with almond biscotti.

we had smoked ham (baked 2 mos. ago, leftovers frozen), mac & cheese, cabbage sauteed with garlic and turmeric, roasted homegrown asparagus, tomato/cucumber/pepper salad, and brownies for dessert.
We still have many bags of frozen field peas, a few bags of green beans, and corn from last year's garden. It ought to be enough to get us into mid-summer when our 2016 garden starts coming in.

got back from a wedding late last night
(8 hour drive)
so had a frozen London Broil and a new grill
one of those counter top optigrill …
it claims to be able to cook frozen meat.
worked out pretty good … London Broil
is hard to cook frozen because of it shape.
HB or Chicken or fish or steaks would be
better. but did a good job …
and love the shake and bake coated spuds …
