What's for Dinner, Tues., Apr. 19, 2016

Yum, I am going to have a pasta feast tonight. The RG is on his way back from a food show in D.C. where he served all kinds of pasta dishes. There was plenty left, so he's bringing it home in an ice chest.

I made a tossed green salad to go with.

We're having leftover beans and cornbread with fried cod nuggets. Enjoy your pasta

OK, roasted Cornish hen, with mushroom risotto and roasted Brussels sprouts.

ps: I was hoping for asparagus, but they looked thinner than a #2 pencil at the store today.

We'll be sitting down to it in a couple of hours (out here on the Left Coast).

Prepared by our friend's Vietnamese mom. Not for the faint of heart. The lady sips spicy fish sauce alongside the tea with her meal.

OMD!

I just cleaned out some cabinets and opened a bottle to check it. Ay yi yi. Can hardly imagine sipping it alongside tea. Acquired taste, no doubt.

Adsos, was it you who posted about making a lentil loaf in the last 10 days or so? I was curious, because I decided to make one, too.

The recipe I found on a blog has a good topping. It's a mixture of balsamic, organic ketchup, and maple syrup.

In addition, I made caramelized onions to put on each slice.

turned out pretty good - I mostly just made this to "go with" the rest of the beer.
