Cooking & Baking
Related: About this forumTonight's Dinner will be Historic!! What are you all making?
I have so many things that I *have* to cook (it's so hot here, I haven't been eating a lot of cooked food) or it's going to go bad, so I think I'm firing up the grill.
chicken tenders (I marinate them in Italian dressing, and keep them on hand for salads and wraps)
chops (I have pork chops galore, and no room in my freezer, hence the need for grilling because I don't want the oven or stove to heat up the house, lol) and I don't know what to do with them (maybe applewood? I am not sure)
chuck eye steaks....salt...pepper....grill. That will make steak and eggs the next day or on top of a salad, whatever.
I am going to make a broccoli/cauliflower salad/slaw, grilled brussel sprouts and asparagus and have salad greens on hand.
I am going to open a a jar of applesauce and open a can of beans, and doctor them up a little bit.
I have a bottle of wine from a local vineyard that's been a fixture in my refrigerator for way too long, so...
Oh, and I have a pork shoulder half butt that will most likely be turned into pulled pork bbq, because it's my mother's favorite, and she gets what she wants.
I expect to feed my extended family but it's looking like I will have to take it all over there. I'm good with that, because four generations of women are going to witness history.
It's history. She gets what she wants.

I'm really looking forward to this.
