Update on the college iron skillet...

son said all three roommates are using it for just about everything they cook. Said one guy cooks pasta in it.

I asked why they weren't using the other cookware and he said they hate to clean more than one thing.

and struggling to make them non-stick. Sanding them to get a smooth , slick surface and so far pleased with the results - can't beat them for holding heat and uniform cooking.

you won't regret it. They are a bit heavy for me but the easy clean-up is nice.

They'll be able to cook everything with the griddle and their skillet!

I LOVE mine. One side is smooth and the other is ridged. It is slightly tilted to run off grease to a groove which runs around entire edge of ridged side. I grill veggies and grilled cheese sandwiches and cook pancakes on the smooth side. I grill all manner of foods on the ridged side. It fits across two stove eyes.

I've got the Lodge griddle, two Lodge cast iron skillets and a Lodge cast iron hibachi.

The hibachi retails for $149.99 but I got mine for $1 at a yard sale!
