Everyone loves scrawny wings and now they're expensive, but thighs and leg quarters (drum and thigh) are the least expensive pieces to buy and my favorite. Thighs have a lot of easily accessible meat and boneless thighs are great in stir-fry, bone-in are awesome baked, breaded and fried, or barbecued.

My upscale market that I rarely go to sometimes has trays of four thighs pre-seasoned with a bbq rub for ~$2.50.

So much more flavorful than dry breast meat. Best way to cook them is to use a tagine (I got one from World Market.) Rub them down with some cinnamon, coriander, cumin, red pepper and salt, add a generous heap of garlic, the juice of one lemon and a couple of tablespoons of butter and place in the oven at 375 for a little over an hour. Yum!
