What's for Dinner Fri., Sept. 22, 2017

Edited to add: sushi for an appetizer.

Steak and shiitake mushrooms.

Some kind of side dish of zucchini, both yellow and green.

Dessert: tres leches cake with cold orange spice tea.

I wish I could post the particulars, but the creative process is going on now. I hear the immersion blender going.

Regarding the root vegetables he cooked a few days ago, the beets were cubed and cooked slowly in sesame oil. Then he added crushed coriander seed to it. Outrageously good, and so simple to make.

Here in NW suburban Chicago it's 93 degrees outside, which is around 20 above normal.
An Elvis-sized pizza will keep me out of the kitchen for a couple of meals, while we do a "Neflix & chill".

with a creamy lobster-shrimp sauce. Steamed rice, and still haven't figured out a green yet. (The asparagus at the market today looked terrible, so I didn't get any. Argh.)

We picked up some nice ripe tomatoes and we'll make a quick salsa to smother the swordfish.
Bed of quinoa, fresh veggies, Sancerre.
