Sunday breakfast

I got some ambition today and mixed up a spinach-mushroom-and-feta quiche.

Ten thirty is the perfect time to eat a weekend breakfast, lol.

The advantage to this is that I'll have breakfast for myself all made for the week, now, since my hubby and sons won't touch this dish with a ten foot pole.

Spinach, mushroom, feta quiche --
All for me, oh!

I have my own version. My husband alternates eggs and oatmeal, so boring for someone for whom all foods can be breakfast--and big opportunity because I get first crack at all the good leftovers I'm not holding for another dinner.

I'm in the process of preparing a Sunday breakfast at our house. We're having uncured bacon, shitake mushroom and cheese omelet and a cinnamon roll I made a couple of months ago and found in the freezer yesterday with fresh fruit.

I love quiche and am the only lover of that in the house, too. I make it when friends come and get to enjoy it then.

he is vegetarian and I always load it up with yummy vegies. But my sweetie will eat to be polite, but would NEVER ask for it.

Back in the 50s my dear old dad indoctrinated all his kids on the wonders of canned spam. We were young and impressionable and he was able to turn us into voracious disciples of spam. We spread the word to our own offspring and spouses, converting them into the cult of spam eaters. Now my DH smacks his lips as he fries up slices of bacon flavored spam and tells our grandchildren how delicious it will be. The cycle is now complete.

not to long ago found we couldn't afford it. Or something. The price was really surprising for what I'd imagined as an inexpensive tin of solidified pink goo.

It started out as a way to use last night's roasted potatoes and before I knew it I was flame-roasting a poblano. Served with a poached egg on top. Scrumptious!
