You know it is serious when I voluntarily call.

Because I have asthma, she put me on prednisone. We had a discussion and I agreed with her. By the time this morning rolled around my chest was feeling heavy so I was ready.
She told me they have a patient who is in week five of this thing. There are evidently four different viruses that are wandering around and you just have to bear with it till it’s over.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Right?

Thanks for the response.

Things are better but now I have an incredibly sore throat and my ears are blocked up.
Oy!
Will call the doctor again on Monday. Think I might have to go to the doc in a box and have them actually look at me.
This is not fun.

Her boyfriend has it. Her brother and her sister have it...and the sister's girl friend has it too...afraid to breathe.

(nicely dressed up name for a hamburger, sausage and pasta dish), but I just realized I forgot to defrost and it's 5:15. Most of the left-overs I could grab from the freezer went in not too long ago, and my brain's in end-of-day mode and would rather veg on DU than pop up any good suggestions.

Oh, fingers, bless you! Now to sell it to my husband...

Ohio on Saturday. She should not have been out. There was ice and she drives too fast. Thank God she wasn't killed. So she blew out two tires. I had the car fixed and took it to her. My other daughter was meeting me there to give me a ride home and have dinner with me at the house. My youngest has the flu now so I brought her soup.I get outside and my car is covered with snow...and underneath is solid ice. The car was dropped off thirty minutes ago! Some flurries. No one expected the snow and the plows were not out. The roads were terrible. And my daughter 's windshield wipers were bad and broke while I was driving...thankfully I made it to the auto store by looking out the window and putting the defroster on super high...what a night. we have about six inches of 'flurries' as I write this. I would have just waited for the car, but she has school tomorrow and fieldwork (teaching major). hope the roads are better tomorrow.

On the bright side, after our teenage daughter rolled her car (taking an icy on-ramp too fast) and walked away, the lesson took. A quarter century later that is still the last foolish accident.

Hope the roads are better today.

added some leftover black bean salsa ...
a can of sauce .. a can of diced tomatoes...2 cans of rotel
1 can of chili magic (Texas) ... and 1 can of normal kidney beans

1. About enough leftover spaghetti sauce with Italian sausage for one good serving.
2. Almost enough leftover brisket for a sandwich.
3. Not quite enough black bean salsa (Carol's recipe) for two to share.
4. ...

Sounds like it'd be worth setting aside a little spaghetti sauce for next time you make it.

It was so good. My daughter was coming over and she loves spicy food. You take the meat (any kind of roast) and brown it. You add two of the thai chilis ( I had the chile paste so I used that), the juice of three limes and the zest, an inch of ginger ( I added more),
three cloves of garlic (added more) and you grind it up in a food processor or by hand. You add it to the meat and let it cook together for a few minutes. Next add two full cans of coconut milk and a 1/2 cup of water. Bring it to a boil and let it cook a couple of hours. This could go in a crockpot too-I did add brown sugar to taste-I like the sweet and the sour. And I threw the lime carcass in the pot too for extra flavor,..That's it. So easy. After it was done I added the coconut cream on the top of the coconut milk to thicken it a bit. I served it with coconut rice. It was so good. A small serving filled me up...very rich. I had a good sized roast so there were leftovers. Of course, DD took the leftovers home for her boyfriend who works second shift. There is probably enough left for a couple of meals. We had a big salad with Vinaigrette, tons of veg, almonds and cranberries. I am going to have a pair for dessert. Make sure you salt your meat. I forgot to put salt in the paste (recipe didn't call for it) and I had to take the meat out and salt it and let it sit for a minute or two...it was so bland!
