What's for Dinner, Sat., Feb. 17, 2018

Pasta with ragu sauce. The sauce is made with ground beef.

Also roasted Brussels sprouts. These were roasted in a cast iron skillet with two thick pieces of applewood smoked bacon.

Dessert: fruit, probably sliced apples with blueberries and candied pecans on top. A biscotti and mint tea.

Ever try this? After roasting them, toss Brussel sprouts in a combination of pure maple syrup and finely chopped walnuts....not too much....just a slight coating. Back in the oven for a couple minutes. Delicious!

Chinatown was a mob scene and it was lots of fun with fireworks and dragons.

We went to a place we've been to before on Mott Street. We got there fairly early, about 5:00. We had hot & sour soup, grilled shrimp and chicken lo mein. The family at the table next to us was celebrating a birthday and because we sang "Happy Birthday" with them, they shared their cake with us! It was a very lovely evening.

As we were leaving, the dinner crowd was picking up and the streets were packed.

Happy New Year!
