What's for Dinner, Wed., Oct. 10, 2018

Don't know yet as the RG is headed to the store for whatever looks good. He's a market shopper (vs a recipe shopper, like me) and buys what's fresh and then makes up his own recipe in his head before he even leaves the store. Alas and alack, I never had that ability.

Last night at the Portuguese restaurant I had salmon and shrimp in pink cream sauce. The RG had a steak. For dessert we had (sp?) segadurra (sawdust dessert) and chocolate mouse. Of course a fabulous bottle of wine. Nice time.

I make it as per the original recipe: chopped cauli, mozzarella, an egg, and spices. Bake until brown-ish. Top to my heart's content and broil until irresistible!

Many days, I'll just go to the store and get inspired. A lot of times our fridge/freezer is so full I can just pull out anything to get started.

Tonight I'm alone in the country and the local supermarket had amazing filet mignons. They were huge and priced to sell at $6.99/lb. I grilled one and had smashed garlic potatoes and a salad. The garden is now officially done for the year.

Vanilla ice cream before bed.
