Nor what parsnips were in the first place. And maddezmom wondered what the "corned" in corned beef meant. One of those things you don't need to think about unless it comes up in the course of a boiled dinner discussion...done and done. All's good and the dinner is on.

PS, Ask me about our rummy 500 games.

something on the grill, potato salad, baked beans, grilled squash, etc.

from "The Neelys Celebration Cookbook", dredged and browned in seasoned flour, then simmered in a buttermilk gravy - turned out good! We had mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus for sides.

I've never seen anybody mention the show Down Home With the Neelys in this group. I think some of their food is a little too food-porninsh, but I like the way they present it, and I think they're a very cute couple.

We saved the mashed potatoes and veggies. I'll use some of the sliced turkey left over from the potluck a week ago, heat all ingredients, and make a gravy from ice-cubes of chicken stock.
