Basmati-rice.
Boil for 5-10 minutes until juuuust done.
Rinse. Dry with towel.
Oil in a cold pan, add moist rice, turn up to medium heat, fry until golden.
The rice-grains will get grooves, just like the segments on a maggot. Approximately like this:

(16,423 posts)1. Rinse the rice until water is clear.
2. Boil for ~10 minutes until almost done. Rinse in a sieve.
3. Clean pot, put baking-parchment on the bottom, coat the parchment with oil. Add moist rice. Add a shot of water, not too much. Put a towel over the pot and the lid over towel and pot, to seal it airtight.
4. Put on stove. Set stove to highest temperature. Once your hear frying-sounds from inside the pot, set to lowest temperature. Let it steam for 30-45 minutes without lifting the lid.
5. When done, remove lid and towel. Put a server-plate upside down on the pot and swiftly flip plate and pot, so the rice will fall on the plate.
EDIT: That up there in the pic is just the crispy bottom bit.
