(2,674 posts)I can go for that type of food. Up until now, all I heard was to eat the dumplings. I am looking forward to a new food experience.

Is it a buffet style or off the menu? Are you alone or with a group?

(6,253 posts)The group that I was with went to a Nepalese restaurant once a week -- wonderful food!
I found the food to be a blend of Chinese and Indian foods. Rice dishes, naan-like breads, spicy and flavorful. I wish I could find another back home.

(34,137 posts)These days "spicy" tends to mean loaded with hot peppers. Since I cannot eat hot peppers, that cuts off a lot of foods for me.
I like "spicy" when it includes spices such as ginger, herbs, and other seasonings. Antyhing on the Scoville scale of heat is NOT on my menu.

(34,137 posts)One of the reasons I am asking about the Nepalese food is that my husband and I will be traveling in the UK later this year. I know they have a different blend of ethnic foods than I have access to here in the American South. While I would like to try various foods, I do not want to end up regretting being adventurous.
I'm not allergic to hot peppers, just very sensitive to them and eating them is unpleasant for me for days and days - not something to have to deal with while on the road.

(2,674 posts)It was cold with a foggy wet drizzle falling. To use a East Texas phrase, roads were "slick as snot". Wrecks everyhere.
So we stayed on our side of town and ate at Aqua Azul, my favorite Mexican sea food restaurant, in Grand Prairie. Grilled tilapia with garlic sauce and shrimp diablo. Served with their house rice which has chopped Spanish chorizo and tiny shrimp in it plus a slice of grilled garlic bread. Always good food at this place.
