What's for Dinner, Fri., April 5, 2019

Mezzi rigatoni with bolognese sauce.

Appetizer plate with pumpernickel bread topped with avocado/tomato mix. Cantalope-prosciutto rolls. Sliced apple and crackers with gorgonzola spread.

A note about next week: I'm traveling to Chicago tomorrow and will be there for the better part of the week. I'll have access to wi-fi, so I expect the thread to continue as usual, but if you notice a night where I'm not here or if the posting time seems a little off, that's why.

ground beef, browned with a dash of chili powder and deglazed with worcestershire sauce
diced sweet red pepper and onion
cup of frozen corn
frozen mixed tomatoes from the garden; Sungold, purple cherokee, green pear
some catsup and a bit of BBQ sauce

Simmer all of that together, thin with a little water if necessary. Serve over toasted bun and top with grated cheddar.

Along with leftover sheet pan roasted brussels sprouts and sliced meyer lemons from last night. Halved and trimmed, tossed in olive oil and juice from meyer lemon, roasted at 400 until lightly caramelized. I love this dish.

Onion rings for the ones not worried about carbs.

They had ham hash w/ an egg on it, steamed broccoli and some salad left over from yesterday. I guess it was kind of a brunch. They seemed to enjoy everything.

Ivar’s is a great fish house in greater Seattle area. Wonderful!
Their clam chowder best I have ever had - hands down! I skipped it tonight cuz I had a bowl earlier this week!

Have a good weekend!
