3. I haven't recently looked but $1.99 is usually the price I see on these, not $.99 each...

I suspect perhaps the tariffs (or threats of) are perhaps stifling the market. I also thought a lots of these were grown in TX, CA, and FL...

San Antonio, TX the prices are:
Small : $0.98
Large: $1.88
Jumbo: $2.78
These are in line with recent shopping experiences.

I must have visited/sought out at least eight different stores and some supermarkets.

All are selling Hass avocados for $1.99. I was hoping it was price-gouging at one or two, but I'm telling you, it's all over up here.

Usually 99¢ at the Mexican grocery, a bit less by the bag at Costco.

at least $1.00 at Aldi and $1.59 at Kroger. And I haven't seen those alligator pears from Florida for several seasons. I used to get them at Ingles Markets in NC, but have not seen them lately.

Really screwing the consumer for his own vanity.

I just paid 2/$4 the other day. Smaller ones. Many of the ones I tried were mush. It's shameful.

I usually have enough for me, the accursed squirrels, and the neighbors. I got two or three usable ones this year - the rest were tiny, and never ripened.

I work in dining; we're looking at $100+ for a case of 48, and they're quite small. It's not the worst I've seen but it's not good, either.
