Culture Kitchen

I heard this story a few days ago on NPR and thought it one of the best I've ever heard. I got such a lift out of someone bringing out the culinary cultural traditions of our immigrant groups.

The founder of the school uses networking to seek out people who do a certain type of dish particularly well. Then she asks these cooks to do a lesson on how to prepare that dish at her school. A side benefit is that the instructors meet people outside of their cultural group. I also like the idea that "word-of-mouth" is used to locate good cooks.
