What's for Dinner, Fri., Oct. 25, 2019

The RG is making a birthday dinner for our friend tonight. We are having grilled lamb chops, which are marinating in olive oil, garlic, and rosemary. Potatoes, cubed, and cooked in the cast iron skillet on the grill.

Baby arugula salad with parmesan, cherry tomatoes, and toasted pignolis.

I'm picking up the b'day cake from Whole Foods on the way home from work. I'm thinking either carrot cake with cream cheese frosting or almond cake.

Kidney beans. Prepping ham and garlic so far. Checking the viability of the celery, onions and carrots next. Maybe some bell pepper too. Leaning towards sage and a touch of cayenne for seasoning.

We have lots of things to eat as sides already made. Rice, mashed potatoes and stir fried veggies. Perhaps a sandwich with roast chicken breast (cooked last night) or some deli meats. Grilled cheese is an option as well.

TJ will wake up and have some input I'm sure.

FLFC will be offered various meats and packaged dog food. Dog only knows what he will accept. He's been rather picky lately. I suspect a part of his fickleness is a ploy for attention.

After watching Alton Brown’s immersion therapy episode, I decided to take a grass-fed beef rump roast, dump a packet of onion soup mix on it, and sous vide it for ten hours at 135. It was superb. Really easy, too.

Eggs over medium, Canadian bacon, and gluten free pancakes...and maybe home fries. And coffee. My daughter and I are going out for dinner and to spend our Kohl's cash.
