What's for Dinner, Sept. 8, 2020

Spaghetti and meatballs with tomato sauce. I intended it for last night, but didn't have it.

Big tossed green salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, and scallions. Celery, too. Homemade dressing by the RG. It has gorgonzola in it and is a vinaigrette.

For dessert: I am trying to confine myself to 1/2 of a Haagen Daz new flavor. Coffee vanilla chocolate. The chocolate is outrageous. Very thick and lots of it, too: just like having a chocolate bar in the ice cream. Do not, repeat, do not go to their page and look at their new flavors or you will think of little else. Last night I had some of the pineapple coconut. Wonderful summer flavor.

The RG is away on business so I should take advantage and have all the things he doesn't like. For example, he does not like kidney beans, but someone here posted a recipe for a salad using them. It was outrageously good. I have some going in the slow cooker.

Al & I decided we preferred a pizza w/ a thinner crust than the frozen ones we have been buying and doctoring-up. So, homemade this time.

On this pizza: ground beef, onions, peppers and garlic.

Dessert will be Mocha Almond ice cream.

(I even prepped tomorrow's dinner. It's an experiment. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.)

With Italian plum and basalmic reduction. (Was gifted some plums). Buttery potatoes and canned green beans.

Made an apple strudel yesterday that will be for dessert. Green tea steeped with fresh mint and poured over ice.

I just finished off a pint of the spirits Haggendazzzz! Chocolate stout with pretzels. Was very tasty! Going to have to look for the pineapple coconut.

I made bread in the bread maker today...my oven died. And it turned out really well. I have been using How Can it Be Gluten Free from America's Test Kitchen...and this was the best bread I ever made. I used it instead of a bun for my hamburgers. For desert I had three fund size candy bars...mounds, peanut butter cup...and a butterfinger...well rounded meal!
