What's for Dinner, Fri., Sept. 11, 2020

Cold peach soup. It has cantalope and Grand Marnier in it.

Chicken with pesto sauce.

Sliced cucumber salad with sour cream, red onion, and dill.

Dessert: some of that new Haagen Daz flavor I was carrying on about the other day.

Left over ground beef tacos with lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. I forgot dessert-homemade banana bread.

2nd time trying jackfruit in a sauce as a vegetarian meal, even drenched in extra BBQ sauce the texture doesn't work for me.

But because I put money into it, I finished the bun and made extra steak fries. Decafe cold tea and a almond chocolate biscotti for dessert.

Thick sliced smoked bacon fried on the grill to what I consider perfection. Two romaine lettuce head sliced in half then grilled on the same half sheet that the bacon was cooked on but with most of the grease poured off and saved for future use.
Sliced side down and grill till slightly charred.
Place one head on plate With sliced side up.
Cover with crumbled bacon, chopped Roma tomatoes, chopped white onion.
Top with dressing of your choice, we use poppy seed.
Repeat for other plate.

Yes grilled lettuce...delicious!

Enjoy!

There's leftover chicken & spaghetti from last night.

There's leftover shepherd's pie from the night before

There's some potato salad leftover from Monday and a couple of hot dogs.

And there's a few bites of ice cream left if you want dessert. (I predict a battle on this--loser gets an orange.)
