I am a convert to planting tomatoes to the first bud

I haven't watered them in a week and it's been 100 out and they look fine.

I usually plant tomatoes before I have blooms. Are you suggesting waiting? Doesn't this mean you will have tomatoes on the ground? I'm just trying to get how this works straight in my head.

I am not unhappy with the way this year's tomatoes are doing, but I am always willing to experiment with better techniques.

I've always done it that way. Tomatoes are famous for the way they root.

But yes, you can plant them as soon as doing so won't kill them.
