For those of you, who tried to

help me with that Henry Ford rose: It recovered
somewhat, but it took a lot of babying and some
dug in coffee grounds to help it.
I have now 5 little sprigs with a flower, but don't
know whether they survive the heavy rain together
with the hail.
I tried last year for propagation, but took the
cuttings out to early. May be I will try again in
the fall.

Her mother-in-law died a few weeks ago and she and her husband have moved into her house. Last week she specifically invited me over to look at her newly-inherited gardens, but when I got there yesterday they'd been so damaged by hail I couldn't identify most of the plants. She has about 8-10 rose bushes completely stripped of all leaves and buds by Thursday's hail storm. One of the saddest sights I'd eve seen. May your Henry Ford recover and flourish next year.
