Related: About this forumMy black cat Brigid is getting white hairs that weren't there before.
She will be eight this summer. She has always had a few white hairs here and there in her otherwise black coat, but now there seem to be more. Has anyone else noticed that with a black cat?

Golden Retrievers do too. So why not cats?

She's almost 12 yo. Just one here and one there, but certainly more every year.

Sorry I forgot to read the other answers first. It's late for me and I'm getting a bit loopy.

In different places all over her coat. There just seem to be more of them.

My mostly-black tortie, Samantha, is 10 and she's getting white hairs mixed with the orange and black that she never had before especially in the face. Probably happens to all older cats but its much more noticeable against the black fur (just like people!)
