Donations, Fosters...Request
The National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network,
http://www.nasrn.com/
is a group of volunteers that try to find homes and resources to take care of these pets when their owner
can no longer care for them, or when they are thrown into "shelters". We find foster homes, take care of
vet bills, and arrange volunteer transports across the country.
These are big dogs, most over a hundred pounds, bred to be flock guardians. They can be incredible
partners, friends, and watchdogs (though it's best if YOU provide the protection)
After vet bills, boarding, and other expenses, we invest about $400-$600 per dog, of which adoption fees
usually only cover $100-$250, and funds have run very low.
Even a few dollars will help, and it all goes toward their care.
I am posting this partly because of the need, and also because a donor has offered to double your donation
if received before August 2, 2013. The donation page can be found at:
http://www.nasrn.com/donate.html
It is a 501(c)3 non-profit.
At the site you can also read up on the breed, and check out the available dogs. We are always looking for foster
homes and volunteers across the nation, so if you have space to take one of these dogs out of a shelter for a
while you may well save a life. I should warn you, from personal experience, they will find a way into your heart.
That's not a bad thing, because, given their size, you may find out your heart is bigger than you thought.
Thank you.
