I stopped feeding my dog Iams, oh, when was it? Six years ago? When they discovered plastic in the dog food because it was made in China with no oversight. I switched to Timberwolf and Taste of the Wild then. And Eukanuba has been on a few salmonella lists. I can't believe anyone buys this stuff any more. Must be the power of advertising brainwashing the masses again.

I am always torn between the "they recall a lot because they are more responsible" and the "they recall a lot because they are less responsible". I often wonder if the brands that do not have recalls are just doing everything right, or if they are just not looking for problems.

that hasn't had a recall nowadays. The big companies (P & G and Nestle's) are buying up the smaller ones since the melamine fiasco a few years ago.

Quality control still sucks but at least they are doing recalls instead of trying to hide the problems.

The Federal Drug Administration has issued voluntary recalls of certain varieties of Iams and Eukanuba dog and cat food.
The Proctor & Gamble Company has agreed to voluntary recall almost 30 different types of pet food after the FDA reported that tests of the food came back showing traces of salmonella bacteria.
