Came in the house to take a nap. Hit the bathroom and kicked off my shoes, came around the corner of the bed and stepped on something.
Dead squirrel. So of course when I pick it up she wants it back.
Ran outside barefooted and tossed it into the trash can. then managed to get my nap.

You, not so much. The things we have to deal with!

(53,072 posts)It's their natural instinct to hunt. Cats often bring gifts, but if I recall correctly, Marcy is a dog, right?

I like little wild critters just fine as long as they aren't in my house and are alive with all their innards inside them where they belong... otherwise, YUCK.

(11,065 posts)When I read the OP I got a flashback of when I was a kid and one of our cats caught a squirrel, dragged it into my parents bed and chewed up some of it's middle. Thank heaven my dad found it rather than my mom (she would have screamed the house down). I never saw it, but I think my imagination may actually be worse than what it actually looked like though I'm glad I never looked at it either. Mom was a pretty good sport about it afterward though... she joked that she'd rather have been "gifted" a box of chocolates instead.
