Are there cat door "inserts" that can be put in an existing doggie door hole?

I have a doggie door and as I no longer have dogs I used to just keep it closed off.

Now I have taken in Mr.Cat and he still seems to need to feel he can go in and out as he pleases to feel comfortable here so I've taken out the "blocker" thing and he uses it. I can't keep that open like that with no dogs in the house to protect the house so I'm looking for a cat door that I can put in the same hole that was cut out for the doggie door, with the cat door opening being small, just for a cat.

Does anyone know of such a thing? I haven't found anything but I don't know what it would be called so I could be missing it.

Yeah, I've been toying with that idea as well. cui bono Mar 2014 #2
Can't you put a board over the hole to make it smaller. Auntie Bush Mar 2014 #3
Yeah, that's what I'll have to do. cui bono Mar 2014 #4

made do you know of anybody that is handy with tools that might be able to create something to adapt the space for a cat door?

I can use the holes/screws from the doggie door and just put some other material there, like a metal sheet or something.

Maybe an L shaped covering to make it smaller and narrower. Maybe a piece of acrylic or plastic. Good luck!

Was just hoping I could find something already made to do that.

Thanks!

The previous owners must've had shetland ponies going in and out- the dog door was so big you could reach through it and unlock the door.

Since the door was metal, I got a couple sheets of galvanized steel then used silicone and metal screws to attach the panel over the existing door hole. Then I cut a much smaller hole for a dog door more to our doxie's size.
