husband and i went out of town for a couple nights, something we haven't done for a couple of years, and they were happy to see us rather than inconvenienced by our absence.
(formerly) fat cat isn't much of a lap cat, but she is today

(18,470 posts)He, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend's brother are in Pittsburgh right now. I've been going over and checking up on their cat TK and keeping her company for a few hours at a time. Her she is this afternoon.
(M brother pays me in homebrew for doing that).

(17,276 posts)The pet sitter came every other day to see to our two cats. But when we got back, the tabby would not let me out of her sight--for about five days! Poor kitty was so lonely. She's more of a people cat, and isn't very close to her housemate cat, more's the pity. I would like to adopt another cat who could be her friend, but how to make sure they would get along?

(11,065 posts)because you did come back... even if you just went to the mailbox and back. Cats, however, will get revenge. The Artist Formerly Known as Fat Cat may be suffering your lap after you left her without permission (which is never granted, so don't bother asking) only to lull you into a sense of security that she isn't going to plot revenge on you for leaving. heh heh.
She's looking really well! Aside from the plotting revenge facial expression and no longer being fat she looks like any other healthy cat!
FYI: Lap Cat Syndrome not recommended with full bladder... you know she'll not allow you to get up to go pee by digging every one of her claws into you but will also make you suffer the attempt to get up for a pee by kneading your bladder... while purring evilly.

(18,470 posts)As a younger dog she was all full of energy. A couple times we went off on trips and when we got home she just about jumped in the van she was so happy to see us all.
