And of course, came home with a puppy. Just last year they got Max who is just a cute as a button mutt and adores everyone regardless of species. Rocky is a lab/pit mix about 6 months old. He and Max get along great though Max has been trying to mount him, and Rocky isn't so keen on being the low dog on the totem pole.
Yoshi is just thrilled to pieces he has a new puppy to play with next door. He sat outside for nearly two hours this morning just staring at their door waiting for them to come out and play. I haven't been able to get any pictures of them yet because they run and tumble around all over the place when they're outside, and I'm lucky if I end up getting a photo of just the tip of one of their tails. It's exhausting just watching all that energy.
I think after this new addition we're going to have to expressly forbid them from going to the shelter to "just look" anymore or at some point we'll have to start stacking up puppies in their yard.

(1,136 posts)How anyone can go and not come home with one is beyond me!!
I say let them keep "just looking" if they are good pet parents! One less dog in the shelters and one more dog in a loving home! You get to benefit from tons of puppy love with none of the hard work of puppies!
Can't wait to see pics. Maybe try a video instead if you have that capability on your phone!

(11,065 posts)I can do both with my camera though and it's much better quality. I also know how to do it with the camera rather than the phone since I have no idea how to do that with the phone. Hell, after like 6 years with this phone I'm still wrestling with just doing the contact list.
They're good doggie parents except for the major excessive barking which drives me up a tree. I can't for the life of me figure out why it doesn't bother them. Their old Bull Mastiff used to bark his brains loose constantly at absolutely nothing at all, and Max does the same thing. Now I suspect Rocky will be doing that as well. I don't get it. Teaching a dog to not bark excessively is so easy and a LOT easier to teach them before they're allowed to get in that habit. For some reason they're just completely immune to it.
Oh yes, we all know what "just look" means when it comes to fur babies! That's how we got our family dog when I was a kid. Mom pulled that "just look" scam on Dad, and of course it was just impossible for him to walk out of there without a puppy... the big softee.

(38,506 posts)My Mom and Dad are starting to talk a little bit about maybe adopting another dog. Our Keisha went to Heaven last year. Maybe if I'm lucky, before too long, we'll "just visit" the shelter as well, and something good (and barking) will come out of it.

I suggest taking them on an outing to the local shelter to "just look".
