Useful phrases my dog knows Your dog(s)?

1- OFF!
2-go to your room ( get in your crate, now)
3- MAKE A HOLE! ( get in your crate right now, example I'm opening the oven and carrying something really really hot and maybe heavy to the counter)
6-No Kitty! (don't hurt/stop with the inhouse cats.) aka Not A Squeeky Toy! ...less used after I saw Princess almost catch a feral kitten ~3 1/2 years ago during spring yard clean up
5- want a cookie?
6- UP! on the couch after the dog 'asks' on the bed for a nap when a Sunday afternoon is loose and free.
7- need an outie?
8- KITCHEN!!! tiled, and anything is washable there.
9-PORCH!- when we're outside and anything 'too interesting'-mail carrier? strange dog? new kid?- comes past and I need to grab her collar, porch is no longer a location, it now means in the backyard as fast I can.
She is a good dog, and I am blessed she is here.

My most intuitive dog passed on long ago--one who seemed to intuit my every thought and emotion, but every dog since then, including my beloved Tallulah and current, Sophie, have been so unique and draw dropping intelligent that I hardly know where to start. I am in awe of the dog, that is for sure.

I so feel sorry for those who have never experienced the unconditional love of a wondrous dog.

OUT! (that is the get out of the kitchen command in my house)...
Back it up! You are too close/under my feet and I don't want to trip
Inside!! (followed by NOW if they have their selective hearing going on) - They are barking incessantly, or something is in the yard that I don't want to get near.
Potty? - Do you need to go potty?
Tr-EAT! Let's get a yummy snack
Give me your paw, give me your other paw - self explanatory
Leave it - use this one a lot...leave whatever it is that you are not leaving alone that you need to alone now (a kitty, a toy, something that fell on the floor that they shouldn't have, etc)
Drop it - They got something before I could tell them leave it and now need to drop it.
Clean up your mess - this is for the boxer who makes a mess when she eat - food gets in her jowls and flings all over the mat under her bowl. After she eats, I tell her to clean up her mess.
Find it - playing fetch, they don't see where it goes, think I still have it, I tell them to find it. Trainer taught me how to teach that one. Advanced can be hide and seek if your dog is pretty smart. My current two won't do it, my dog prior to these two would.

The the obvious sit, down, stay, etc.

4. It's getting to the point

in our household where certain words have to be spelled out - and he still seems to understand exactly what we're saying.

"Go for a coffee?" - to him this translates to doughnut holes from Tim Horton's (!)
"Go pee pee?" - obvious
"Outside?" - obvious
"Cookie?" "Treat?"
"Up up" - is allowed to get up on sofa or bed
"Under" - is allowed to get under the blanket
"Go out on the town?" - he reacts immediately by jumping around/pawing at leash.
"Get comfy" - to him this translates to "stop spinning round and round and lay down."

The word "pizza" puts him in a hilarious state of frenzy. And he's obsessed with my brother who he knows simply as "Uncle."

Daughter and I now have "code words" we use if we don't want him getting too worked up about certain things.

He hates the phrase "gotta go to work" with a burning passion - and is intuitively keyed into our daily routines/habits: the process of doing certain things at certain times that he either likes or dislikes.

One of his favorite phrases used to be "come on up" after we answered the door buzzer (in our old apartment) because he knew that meant company!

Cute topic!
