Eddie's settling in!

In the "kitty sauna" (a box over the kitchen heat register makes a warm and cozy spot, and the upper level is warm too)

Napping in the sun with his big sisters (ages 10 and 12)

Fascinated at the sight of some deer who came right up to the deck in the back yard.

Hanging out in the kitty tree in all his gingery glory. Happy cat.

I thought with all the sad news in the Pets Group that it would be nice to share a happy one.

Love your kitties. They sure look contented. Cat sauna -- love it. My cat follows the sun spots in the house.

one of those sturdy boxes from Costco. That's what this was from. You can't see in the picture but it is open on just three sides, and the side toward the window is solid.

He came from the shelter (and was a stray before that) with a case of ear mites, and did so much scratching that he looks like someone took a clipper to his neck fur. So he looks a little like a goose right now!

Thanks for sharing your cat house with us, ginny! I love seeing your majestic kitties...those tails!

I know those Costco boxes...we've still got them all over the house even tho the three kitties they were put down for are now all gone. Our new fur baby has sniffed and inspected each one, got up on top of the one over our living room vent just like yours is, but I think she still must be leery that "foreign creatures" are hiding under them, cause I haven't yet seen her get comfortable inside any.

I intend to bring home her very own "new" box, next trip we make to shop at Costco.

(I have an M&Ms box exactly like yours, that was once my own precious kitty's favorite spot to hide...like a crawdad...jumping out to scare the crap out of our very old cats as they walked by. I'll never be able to recycle that box.)

Not over the heat register, just in the room. The older tabby cat would hide in there and spy on the kittens.

Good to hear they're adjusting well, it can be "contentious" to introduce a new cat, especially an adult, into a household of "old cats".
For quite a while we had 3--Freddie (orange) Riley (orange and white) and Samantha (tortie). The boys were best friends and Samantha ignored them. Meanwhile my daughter and her husband had 2, Edward (orange) and Jacob (gray tabby) named for the Twilight characters. Then they had a baby girl and Jacob got spooked, spent most of the time hiding under the bed. 3 years later they had a baby boy, and Jacob made his displeasure known on my grandson's new carpet. So...we now have 4 cats. Jacob seems much happier without munchkins in the house, and the other kitties ignore him except for the occasional swat from spoiled brat Riley.

He keeps trying to play with the older ones, and they do chase around some. But they can't keep up with this orange energizer bunny.
