I've spent a small fortune on dog beds and am lucky if they last 10 days! I'd love to be able to take pics like these!

My little guy even chewed through a Kong bed!

My solution was to buy little baby blankets at Goodwill and layer them in the kennels. I can wash them easily enough and so far the little stinker hasn't destroyed any of them. For a bigger bed, I again hit the Goodwill for larger throws and layer them. They seem to like them and like I said, they're washable. The most I paid for any of these was about $3. (Our Goodwills have 50% off sale days on alternate Saturdays so it's easy to get the blankets cheap.)

and I pass a Goodwill store on the way to work.

Since I have two, everything they get their paws on becomes a tug of war "toy". They actually have a real tug of war toy, but don't seem to bother much with it. Occasionally, Bruno will chew on it, but he usually doesn't let Diesel near it. At one point, I decided to just get crate pads instead of beds. One pad is now torn to shreds, so it's only a matter of time before they shred the other one. The crazy thing is, they both curl up to each other on the shredded pad!!!

They really make me crazy!!!

I've sunk more money into dog beds. I was buying them at Ross because they are so much less there. Three days later, there was nothing left but fabric.

Good luck getting the blankies. It took me several months to accumulate a good stack of them. I also buy them for our rescue.

for my previous dogs, who were VERY well-behaved...wouldn't even get in the garbage! I have one quilt left and that was always Buster's quilt...BEST DOG EVER, been 3 years since he crossed the bridge and I still cry for him all the time. There's NO WAY I'm letting these two get anywhere near Buster's quilt!!

Do yours chew everything else, too?? I have to keep the garbage can in the bathroom and I have no furniture in my living room!! They ate the couch, which had two styrofoam bead beanbag filling pillows, then ripped the pillows open.....I had a good 4 inches of styrofoam bead beanbag filling scattered all over the living room!! It looked like my living room had been hit by a blizzard and don't even get me started on how it was to clean up!! Broom...vacuum....those things fly all over the place!!!

and bought a latching garbage can after this happened:

It's really just the young one who chews these days. He's in a kennel when I leave the house but I need to watch him when I'm home. He's gotten better with age. Right now he's a bit obsessed with antlers and has left everything else alone. The antlers are pricey but then so is replacing pillows, etc. Costco has antlers for $40 with 5-8 in a package depending on size.

For stuffed toys, I again hit the Goodwill. I buy smaller stuffed animals that have no beans or beads inside. I toss them in the washer in a lingerie bag before giving them to him. If he destroys a $1 animal, I'm not upset. It beats paying $5+ at Petsmart and seeing that torn apart. He loves carrying the "carcasses" around after he's pulled out the stuffing.

This reminds me of the video on Facebook....2 happy dogs greet their human, but there's garbage all over the floor! Human asks how it happened and who did it...cut to 3rd dog with the lid for the garbage can stuck on his head!!

I've seriously considered getting a bear proof garbage can, but they're pretty big and I have a very small kitchen. They'd probably end up destroying a bear proof can eventually anyway!! They're snuggled up to each other now, sleeping on the shredded bed! Bad, bad boys....
