Jim Parsons Joins Stephen Colbert On The Late Show's "Rescue Dog Rescue"

Over the past 10 years, Jim Parsons has played Dr. Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, who's inspired millions of people (like Stephen Colbert) to yell "Bazinga" and find humor in everything from awkward social situations to theoretical physics.

Now, Jim has teamed up with Stephen to motivate fans to adopt lovable puppies through The Late Show's "Rescue Dog Rescue," which features some of the dogs available for adoption through the North Shore Animal League America (NSALA).

Meet some of the cuties up for adoption:

Gracie: 8–10 weeks, Collie/Hound mix

Tucker: 8–10 weeks, Terrier mix

Rusty: 8–10 weeks, Dachshund Min Pin mix

Sheldon: 8–10 weeks, Border Collie

Scout: 8–10 weeks, Border Collie mix

Especially since the new owners can say "my dog was on Stephen Colbert!" I've seen him do this before and I wish he would do it more often - and not just with young puppies. I especially liked Rusty, poor little guy looks so worried!

My previous dog was actually on TV, the chief weatherman at the local ABC affiliate is a huge animal lover and has mostly dogs and cats up for adoption from local rescue organizations on a special segment during the news broadcast twice a week. And one night he had an older cocker spaniel - they thought he was 10 or 11 - and he looked so much like the dog I grew up with that my mother called me and I called the number before the end of the broadcast. We went and picked him up the very next day and my mother liked to tell people he'd been on TV. I just loved the dog, he was beautiful with the best temperament, and I had him for eight wonderful years.

He was quite an unusual dog since he hadn't lived with people, but he had a wonderful foster mom who gave him a great start - including the housebreaking! When we went for walks, he tried to make friends with a tree stump and a lawn sprinkler, LOL. But he was also the sweetest and best tempered dog in the world...
