(17,006 posts)I used to live on a bayou and my cat, Spot, liked to play in the mud and chase things. He would come home covered in stinky, smelly, swamp mud. He even learned to tolerate the blow dryer.

(24,006 posts)...drawn, and, because he is all teeth and claws while at the vet, they knocked him out with some of the short-acting stuff. The vet was going to reverse it, but I asked him not to so I could give this cat a bath while he was still in la-la land. Worked great!

(9,267 posts)The long hair occasionally gets...things...stuck in it. Gave many a bath in the kitchen sink, had rubber gloves and cat shampoo ready. Much as we loved them, that is a big reason why no more long-haired cats for us.
