than females, who tend to get a bit hissy when another cat bothers them. Since dogs are pack animals, though, the dynamic might be different if males try to establish an alpha-dog hierarchy in the pack.

They're siblings or were raised together. They don't like new cats introduced to the household, I've found (fixed) males much better in that regard. We had Samantha first and she hated the new cats we brought home over the years. When we introduced kitten Riley to our Freddie they were soon best friends and I'm sure they're cuddling together at the Bridge.

Ranging in age from 3 mos to 15 years and they all get along fine (except when the 3 month puppy decides to steal food from one of the others and which point she gets 'disciplined'). The puppy has even managed to get the 5 yo male, who was a couch potato, to romp and play.

We lost an 8 yo female to cancer a while back and she had been in the family since puppyhood as well and got along fine with the other female and the males.

I love Cavaliers. We've had two - both with MVD. First one died at 11 3/4 years of age. Second one died at age 7. Multiple health issues. My friend just euthanized hers - 7 years old, with Cushings, syringomyelia, and other issues. You are very fortunate, especially for the one that's 15!

that 2 females will always fight, even if they have been spayed or grown up together. I have found this to be true. My MIL has 2 females that have been together for 8 years. The 12 year old has stopped tolerating the younger one and now she has put them in separate rooms when she leaves.
Follow your gut.

I think that's the way we have to go, when the time comes.
