do you let your pet lick you?

i have always relished dog kisses. doctor is a HUGE kisser, to the point that i know he is "claiming" me with kisses. biff is not much of a kisser, and would rather bite my nose. the terriers would lick me all day if i let them.
i know what they do with those tongues when i am not looking. but i figure these days the world is too clean anyway.
but there are people out there, my daughter included, who do not let their dogs lick them, especially on the face.

what kind of pet owner are you?

Now this is a first to me to see a poll with only one answer so far. But then again, we are in the Pets Group---so we are a little obsessed anyways!!!

Hell, I even let other peoples' pets lick me!

you just have to except hair and saliva not to mention all the other really gross and stupid things that pets do. But that's all part of why we love them.

I generally don't like open mouth or on the lips, but they have surprised me a few times (4 chihuahuas). The baby, Zatanna, like to lick ears and when I say lick ears, I mean she goes to town! She also licks my toes, which creeps me out. I don't like anyone touching my feet...I have no idea why. Marigny likes to lick eyelids. Tony, the cat, licks to lick my face sometimes, but generally likes to lick my legs and occasionally he bites them.

she takes care of all the dogs, tho not me. she especially takes care of her sister, whose every eye booger and stray hair are groomed for her.
she sleeps on my feet, and lick the bottoms of them when she gets in bed.
sorta hoping she is gonna bond with the little bulldogge, cuz i think he would rather have her do the eye washing, but i am not that sure of the wisdom of that approach. trying to get him used to having his eyes wiped, but he sure isn't happy about it.

He would clean our other lab mix's ear so thoroughly! At first she was uncomfortable with the tongue in the ear, but soon she loved it and would plop down in front of him as if to say "time to clean my ears" becuase she would trade positions so he could get her other ear. For 9 yrs he cleaned her ears - because she has floppy ears, they are more prone to dirt and infections - never a problem. 6 months after he died she got her first ear infection, so now I have the job of ear cleaning. I am not as thorough, she doesn't like the ear wipes as much as his tongue lol.

is that a thing zeta dog? anyway, it is the dog at the bottom that licks aaaaalmost obsessively. and ear cleaning and eye cleaning are big with her.
she licks my face any time i let her, but i am always the one who decides what enough licking is today, and they are all good about that. but she licks my feet at bedtime.

I wish I had a picture of how I looked when she would wash my hair while I slept. My hair is flat, no body, always has been that way, but when she would "style" my hair while I slept, I would wake up with my hair just as fluffy as her little tail was.

Her daughter, Nancy(RIP), would wash my hands a lot. She would look at me like she was scolding me and wash my hands. If I moved, she would grab my hand pull it to her and give me another "be still" look. Once she was done washing my hands, she was happy again.

The way I got Sunday Girl to start nursing on a bottle (her biological mother abandoned her at 3 days old) was to put some of the milk on my bottom lip and let her taste it. She started sucking on my bottom lip, then I slipped the milk bottle nipple into her mouth. After that, she would drink from the bottle and knew what her "Bodew" was. I called it her bodew, like bod dewwww. That is sort of how I pronounced it. She was born in 1992 and just died earlier this year (in March). I still miss her so much. She was like a daughter to me, especially considering I raised her from so young and she was so smart. There will never be another one as smart as Sunday Girl was. I miss her so much, still.

34. Layla is a huge licker!
Mon May 21, 2012, 10:43 AM

Our dog likes to lick our arms and hands to wake us up on the weekends (TIME FOR MY WALK LAZY HUMANS!) When she wants something and we're sitting in front of the TV she will lick toes and legs. My husband also taught her to lick our faces when we ask for a kiss (he minds it less on the mouth than me).

When she was just 8 weeks old, I had her outside and she found cat poop for the first time and started eating it, I grabbed up the little puppy Layla to get her away from the remaining nasty and she turned her little head and licked me right across the cheek. Ewwwww..... poopy-kiss.
