(14,492 posts)Seems that rough play and the falls onto the pipe could damage the animal's spine.....
I do have to say I've never seen a cat ply fetch and return the ball.....

(8,003 posts)We had a long hallway and I would throw the little ball down the hallway and she would catch the ball and bring it back to me. It wasn't a fluke, she did it regularly. Sometimes she would get the ball out of her toy box and bring it to me, nudging my arm until I'd get up and play with her. She lived to be 21 and was just a rescued black alley cat.

(14,492 posts)I've always believed cats are too independent-minded for games of that sort.
Perhaps it's something from a common trait shared with other animals that catch critters for food?
I learn something new every day even at my age.....
