(9,267 posts)My granddog is a black lab. When they brought her home as a puppy she was the same size as their cat. That did NOT last long.

(28,125 posts)They grow so quickly. And develop more distinguishing features and stronger personalities.
I've always had a preference for the "runts" of the litter. They grow up to be angels, just sweet angels. 💕
You're a good surrogate mom, MM.

(28,125 posts)And now I want him. 😁 And Mimi (Dolly/Missy/one of your surrogate puppies) would love him. And she would've been a great mom.
How's little Tad doing? His siblings bullying a bit yet?
Warning: Dog momma bragging ahead...
MM, even our neighbors who have dogs tell us Mimi is 'the sweet dog" they know and that their dogs just light up when they see her. Not like they do with other neighborhood pups. She's our neighborhood Miss Congeniality.

(21,717 posts)He is a sweetie. I think he is a bit "younger" than the other pups. I don't know if his egg got fertilized later than the other eggs or what, he just seems 3-4 days behind the other pups. He was the smallest one and not gaining weight really well. Once we started feeding them mush, he has started gaining weight like crazy. We were lucky if he gained an ounce a day in the beginning, now he is gaining 3-4 oz a day.

(28,125 posts)Hopefully, he'll be like Mimi and have a huge growing spurt around his 4th to 5th month.
for baby Tad.

(28,125 posts)Gave him history and asked if we could adopt him, in all seriousness.
"He looks so sweet but No, we can't have a 3rd dog---I only have 2 arms." Meaning Mimi & Ogee fiercely compete for attention as it is. We must give them both attention at the same time. What do folks with more than 2 dogs do? Of course both of ours were used to being "only children." Yup, they're so spoiled.
Hope Tad gets adopted into an especially loving home.
