This is Yuri (aka Stranger from my earlier thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018235359 )
This is a webpage I put up for him: http://www.novamir.org/yuri.html
He showed up last week, and I think he was dumped, or has wandered so far astray I can't find his home. I went door to door this weekend and no one claimed him or knew anyone who was missing him.
He is by far one of the sweetest cats I have *ever* had the pleasure of knowing. If I sit down outside, he crawls in my lap and starts to purr. He'll reach upward as if to get or give a hug. Once I was scratching him in a way he didn't like, and he gently took my hand in his mouth, and then let go (the message was very clear, though). Didn't bite, just politely asked that I not scratch him along his spine. He is lonely, though. He really wants to be with people, and because of my current cats I can't bring him in.
He's precious. If there was any way I could integrate him into my family, I would. I have 5 cats in a house where I'm supposed to only have 3, and my personal situation is just not very stable right now. Sweetest Yuri needs love, affection, and a forever home with a very loving family.
Here are some photos. I have more if you would like to see them (there are two more at the link). I will also try to deliver him to you if you live within a day's driving distance of northern Virginia. And I promise, if things didn't work out for some reason, I'd take him back until I found him the perfect home. He deserves it. I am also going to post this tomorrow in some state forums.

(13,661 posts)Haven't gone to the vet's yet; just heard back from Dakota's Dream this afternoon about vets that are willing to reduce their costs ... there is a clinic here for shots, neutering, etc. but it's not until Dec. 17; there may be another vet that will match the clinic's fee and I'd take him there if that were the case. I'd like to get him seen before Dec. 17. I'll see what I can swing after I call the other vets Dakota's Dream referred me to tomorrow. I'm also working up to securing him at the office if I can't get him to the vet before Dec. 17 --
But right now, he's snuggled in his little bed outside, having just finished some Solid Gold canned tuna cat food. He's so quirky and cute - he won't eat until I've petted him a little bit, then he happily chows down. He just craves attention, poor baby, and I can't spend as much time with him as he'd like. I think he'll be a permanent lap-cat for whomever adopts him.
OK, so, more beautiful feline pics (they're the ones from the site if you clicked through already).
Pic 1 - I'd just ruffled his fur; Pic 2 is his sweet little profile.
