GOOD NEWS UPDATE!!! - Awesome local Democratic activist (and friend) passed away; cats need homes

Last edited Sat Nov 24, 2012, 11:10 PM - Edit history (1)

I am so happy to report that less than 24 hours after I received the plea, all the cats already have homes!!! I couldn't be happier!!! Thank you to all who responded and sent PMs to help. Sadly so many stories like this do not get resolved so well or so quickly. I am very grateful for this outcome.

As was posted in the Texas forum, Johnny Shelton recently passed away. He was a friend and one of the most active Democrats I know in my county. He left behind 6 beautiful cats. He could never say no to an animal in need of a home. All 6 were rescues. His family will be able to take 2 cats back to Dallas. That leaves 4 males - Napolean, Diablo, Tiger, and Wing Nut. Anyone who knows me well knows I have several already, so unfortunately I can't take any.

Is there anyone out there who can take in one or more of these cats, or know someone who may be interested? They are all fixed and have been kept indoors most of the time. We have a week to find a place for them. If anyone is interested, PM me for the contact information.

I know this would be Johnny's last wish, because he loved them all.

Thank you.

If you know anyone to forward the plea to, that would be a big help. Lisa0825 Nov 2012 #2

13 year old cat and that's about all I can handle here...not a good place for cats except for the large windows with wide sills. i promised my cat when times get better (??) I'll get us a better home. Best I can do is "kick" this forward. Good luck!

I'll transport at no cost anywhere in Texas or anywhere I can drive within a day or so.

Thanks!
