Not an adult feral in sight, except for Skittish who is the only one who uses the porch

It's 8 degrees. I'm not going to put food outside, right now, because it will just freeze. I'll keep watch and if I see any of them, I'll bring out some food. It is ready and waiting.

I heard a weird thumping noise while I was mixing the food. Bronwyn was pawing away, looking like she was trying to break in through the dining room window. Rhian was outside when I first brought out the food for the porch kitcats! That think coat of fur must work.

It will be a cold stretch, this week. I'm already longing for Spring. I'm sure they are, too.

I’m looking at the weather prediction and it’s supposed to be really cold all week I’m getting anxiety already.

2. It was strange to not see a single feral. Not even Scooter, who is plush with fur

I gave some thought to bringing the girls and maybe Dylan in to the sun room. Snowdon would definitely not cooperate and Rhys is iffy on that issue. BUT then the boys would lose that extra body heat from the other 3.

Also considering putting a hot oil heater out there, putting it on a medium setting, and set it on a timer so that it heats every other hour, or so. They've got two boxes with lots of straw in them.

In a while I'm going to put out some bowls of dry kibble so that if any of the adults come by and I don't see them, they will have something to eat.

Right about now! Second night of < -25F here. Ugh. I don't sleep much during these kind of nights or during big storms so I take more than one nap during the day.

The outdoor kitties have it better than they would without your careful planning in their shelters. Keeping from the wind and precip is really crucial but so it warmth. I'm sure they know the value of body temperature sharing.

I'd wait until the kitties feel like venturing out to put the food out. This cold might last a while. I'm on the western edge of it and we're looking at a few more days of it.

Stay warm and snuggle your furry body warmers, I'm jealous!

Kind of bunch it up and put it away from the windows. They also have a nice flat surface just outside of the dining room window so I might put a cushy bed on it and see if they will use it. That will keep them close to the house so it might be a little bit warmer since that will give them 3 solid walls instead of window walls.

I might bundle up and give them some warm snuggles, this afternoon. Bronwyn and Dylan like to talk to me and they have the most beautiful purrs.

It's so rewarding to see Snowdon finally approaching me to sniff my hand and give it a gentle pat, even if he doesn't yet allow pets or scritches.

buried under their bedding when I had ferals I was caring for. They are cheap simple to use, and work for hours. Can get them in hardware stores or online.

I think I saw a good deal on them at Aldi but I'll be checking other local stores, too. In the past I've seen them at The Dollar Tree.
