It's all too easy to push the panic button in a nanosecond. I've done it many times. (This is not criticism - just empathy.)

He seemed fine, one day, and gone the next. That was a hard loss.

I gave Sian a little more pate. She's NEVER before not wanted to eat. Her behavior is pretty much back to normal. I'm not going to leave any kibble in the bowls, tonight.

...of our house. We didn't know it until a next door neighbor came over to tell us she had been hit by a car and had died. I was devastated. We never did figure out how she got out.

She was only 3 years old. She'd shown up in our yard a couple of years before, in late kitten stage, and adjusted to indoor life with our other 3 cats without a hitch. Never showed any interest in going back outside.

To this day, if I can't find one of our cats for more than about 10 seconds, I immediately fear that someone has managed to get out somehow, and I have an instant knot in my stomach. All 4 cats wear beeper devices on their collars so I can "beep" them if I can't see them. Great peace of mind.

And cats are so damn good at hiding.

I once found Sophie on TOP of the open front door! I have no idea how she got up there. Boudicca used to hide in plain sight because her tortoise shell colorings completely blended in with the old shag carpeting that was in the den.

I'm going to dig around and see if I can find the pictures I took.

...Siamese, was a very tiny little thing as a kitten. I was looking for her one day, without success, and noticed her brother on one of the dining room chairs, staring intently at the juncture of the table top to the table base. I took a look and found his sister inside the table base. How she got in there, even as small as she was, was puzzling because the opening to that space was really small. Her brother's head was too big, or he'd have probably gone in there, too.

I'd never have thought to look there.

a happy girl and eating again. I know your anxiety when one of our fur kids go off their feed.

Seeing her behavior being SO different, this morning, was just deeply concerning.

I'm going to try feeding her in a different room from the rest of the kidcats. At least for a while so I can keep better track of how much she's eating.

Some times they just have a little tummy upset and all is well after they get it out of their system. Glad she's acting normally now.
