Something embedded in it? Does he lick all of his feet or just one in particular?

I've looked around his paws and nothing seems to be embedded. His legs in front ( both of them ) seem to almost RAW from all the licking!

I wonder if he walked in something he's allergic to. Insecticides in your lawn or a neighbors? Good luck!

Last year he had a goiter show up which turned out to be some awful allergy from licking his paws! UGH. He was so uncomfortable last year.

I was just hoping someone knew how to keep him ( and ME ) comfortable this weekend. The paw licking and wet spots drive me CRAZY!

The constant licking drives me CRAZY!

Vet on tuesday and maybe an oatmeal bath tonight.

I know we say this all the time, but I think this is a time when a vet visit is in order. The issue with doggie allergies is similar to allergies in humans. Finding the specific cause can be very difficult and costly. What your vet will likely do is prescribe symptomatically. That's about all that can be done unless you choose to pay for the course of allergy test ($0,000s)

Our GSD has allergies that manifest in the winter when the house is dry. The vet told us we can give her human antihistamines. At her weight, she can take adult dosages. When she gets really bad itchiness, we take her to the vet and get a course of steroids. The vet has explained the risks/benefits. In our case, they come down better on the benefit side.

I can't say if any of this applies to Quincy, but I hope your vet will help you guys learn what's needed.

By the way, he is a handsome smoosh face.

I have no problem finding out his allergy issues, I think just keeping him comfortable this weekend is my main problem.

Last year when his goiter appeared we changed his food and put him on a steroid. He has been fine since them which is why I think our newly spring weather is to blame.

UGH.

It was 75 today. Seems to be earlier this year... I think I may even need to break out the mower this weekend! Crazy!

My Bear has allergies also & the vet gave us some "antibiotic paw cleaner pads" ( they look like noxema skin cleaner pads) which helped but not as much as benadryl & changing his diet ( no corn, egg or chicken products).

Spring time has hit central texas and I think he may be feeling the odd effects.

The paw cleaner pads sound interesting. Where do you get them? Can I buy them at the store?

I'm thinking something like Burt's Bee's witch hazel and aloe hand sanitizer might tie you over until Tuesday's vet visit. The witch hazel will curb infection, the aloe vera will help with the dryness. Neither is toxic to dogs, though I would definitely use some kind of cone if you have one to stop his licking.

... I don't have them anymore & unfortunately can't remember what the med was, but it was a kind of astringent & some antibiotic.

I had a dog do that years ago and was allergic to grass.
If you have carpets, has anything new been used on them?
Anything new used on other floors?
I doubt this diet related as it would affect more than just the feet.
Benadryl could be tried.
