Look who is coming to be my newest foster dog!!

I met him a few days ago, the first day he could eat solid food again. He was found in a muddy field in the middle of a city. He was extremely emaciated, had a wire embedded in his neck, one his paws looks as if the pads were sawed off, had sores so bad on his back legs that he couldn't stand, and is heart worm positive. He was hours from death last Sunday when he was found, he was so weak he couldn't even lift his head. Petting him feels like bones covered by fur, but he's so sweet. He is beautiful and amazing, and even after people nearly killed him, he loves every person he meets. He also loves other dogs and even loves cats. I cannot wait until tomorrow when I can go get him!

It never fails to astound me that animals can be so abused by people and still be so loving to us. Thank god for my friends who spend their lives rescuing animals from fields, taking the overlooked ones from shelters or puppy mills or wherever they see the need. It's going to be very hard to give him up when the time comes for him to be adopted, but I already have three big dogs and four cats, so I am hoping that when he's healthy again and he's ready, someone wonderful will take him.

put to sleep about a year ago. Beautiful, expressive eyes that held such wisdom and love that touched my soul. Actually, looking at this doggie is making me cry, he's so similar. I can't stand thinking of the abuse he's been through. Bless you!

There is simply no way I could take an animal in and then give him up. I look at our three and all I feel is their unconditional love. That is priceless. We visit the local shelters every so often to know who's there and see if, perhaps, we might be able to match a dog and a person we might know. Every time I leave, I'm overcome with wanting to take them all.

Thank you for fostering.

On behalf of our three wonderful girls, all rescues, thank you.

and I must admit, I've been a foster failure a couple times, that's why I now have three dogs and four cats when in November I had two dogs and one cat. But I know I can't keep them all, even though I'd like to and I've taken care of several who have gotten good homes after being here. If I won the lottery or something, I'd hate to see how many I'd have, lol.

He wasn't scarred like your new friend, but he was hungry when he showed up on our doorstep.

Today he sits fat, happy, and in control. Anyone that walks through the door must scratch his ears or be bombarded by endless meowing.

I guess I should say "thanks" but it's meaningless.

We took in our "Smokey" not because it was right, but because it wasn't right not to. The other cats just had to deal with it.

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

(by the way... Thanks for saving one!)

shelter, but I took her instead a couple years ago. At the time I had a 13 year old dog. A few months later I rescued a three month old puppy and the old dog died three days later. Now, I have three dogs and four cats and the first cat will still have absolutely nothing to do with any of them. They all play together - except her, she hates everyone who isn't human.

How someone could hurt a dog is entirely baffling to me...

He is a real beauty, love his face and his eyes. I hope so much that there's a great life ahead of him and that he receives the love he deserves. My dogs have come from rescue, too. I adopt the senior pups.

He looks like such a majestic, wonderful dog. A good friend of mine fostered then adopted an abused German Shepherd; she was HW positive and appeared to have been abused as a breeder then dumped when she couldn't breed any longer. There is no more loving creature on this earth. Sweet, beautiful, souls; I don't know how humans harm them and live with themselves.

Thank you for caring for him, he will make someone a wonderful companion. Those eyes. He deserves to know what it is to be loved.

He has gorgeous eyes----and a really big nose that is endearing. I am heartbroken over his life up to now, it sounds unimaginable. Thank you for taking the time and effort it will require to get him back to health and ready for adoption.

It's incredible how loving rescues can be after suffering horrible abuse. The vets think he can handle HW treatment? I hear it is very hard on the dog.

Anyone who would open their home and their heart to another living being for no other reward than to see him have a better life is worthy of the greatest admiration. Thank you for doing what you do! And give Louie a pet for me.
