Would you be as happy if the situation were reversed? A governor promising to veto legislation which would forbid the legal carry of guns in those areas?

I'll take one sane governor who cares about public safety over a bunch of politicians who are bought and paid for by the NRA and it's corporate bedfellows.

I find it pretty cynical and absurd to believe one organization somehow managing to bribe politicians in every level of government as the reason the legislators voted they way they did. Ok - to be blunt, i find that view to be borderline psychotic. Which makes more sense? The NRA somehow finding just the right number of elected officials in every level of government they can bribe to support such laws, or does it make more sense that maybe, just maybe, the general population has seen all the gun control garbage for what it is - garbage?

To answer your first question, yes I would be OK with it. That's why we have veto powers. The veto is a safeguard against a legislature run amok. When fear is the top selling commodity in the marketplace, simple majority votes that are based on fear, serve to marginalize segments of society and threaten democracy.

So first the politicians were bribed, now they're merely fearful...
