Jon Lewis Alexander, Store Clerk And Veteran, Prevents Robbery

MARIONVILLE, MO (SPRINGFIELD NEWS LEADER) -- The guy with a gun picked the wrong clerk.

How wrong?

A veteran of four tours in Iraq. A 30-year military man. A former prison guard, private investigator, professional extraditor of federal prisoners and - perhaps most important on this particular Sunday night - a proud owner of a Walther PPX 9 mm handgun.

Loaded, with one in the chamber, like he always carries it.

Crime stopped, no one hurt; sadly the criminal has not been apprehended.

1. GD has evidently moved to hegemony on gun prohibition,

with allowing LOCAL news of incidents seen as "anti gun" in order to CONTINUE a practice of smearing and denigrating 2A supporters (instead of discussing policy issues), while enforcing bans on posting local news incidents which can be construed as supporting "the other side."

This is authoritarian, abusive and calculated. And as always:

Openly Enabled.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1172&pid=131009

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

Whining about DU, accusing admin of being authoritarian and abusive. Do Skinner and EarlG deserve this, seriously?

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Sep 6, 2013, 05:15 PM, and the Jury voted 1-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Gun trollery.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: poster is obviously a fearful person who owns a gun, Alerter where is the violation here? I see a lot of crying but even idiots are allowed their opinions.
post is not disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: This is borderline. I say let it be.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT and said: Hid on general principle that people on DU are attacking DU's people that make it possible for them in the first place.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: This is fine. Don't be so sensitive.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

this to be all meta. It is good that at least some of DU sees the double standard but it will always be there to some extent.

I would really like some of those with differences of opinion to chime in here or GD.

Gungeon on what is a clear problem with open debate, you get "alerted." I can make strong on this problem without personal insults and have done so, but the same threat will be there. For now, I'll watch from afar any new developments.

And yes, there's a double standard. I rather think that it will be addressed in time.
