Williamson became enraged after looking in his girlfriend's purse and finding papers where he was listed as a suspect for a crime in another jurisdiction. They started arguing, and he wouldn't let her call her mother to come pick her up

Why do females have such a hard time leaving an abusive relationship? The good news is she used her firearm properly and probably cleaned up society for the better.

that after a period of time in an abusive relationship, the abuser has managed to convince the abused that they are at fault and that they (the abuser) is the only one willing to put up with them.

Combine that with the probability that the abuser is usually the primary income generator in such a relationship, the abused usually lacks the financial resources to escape the relationship and lacks the belief in them self to remove them self from the relationship.
