A Fort Smith police officer was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly fired shots into the wall of his Sequoyah County home and pointed a gun at deputies and a child. He was placed on administrative leave.
About 2:30 a.m., Sequoyah County deputies responded to the residence of Fort Smith patrol officer Naaman Adcock, just north of Muldrow, in reference to shots being fired, according to Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart.
Sequoyah County Undersheriff Roger Fuller said the residence is on East 1030 Road, about 8½ miles north of Muldrow.
Before deputies arrived, a 5-year-old child ran from the residence to a neighbors house to ask for help. Deputies at the scene determined there had been a disturbance, but Adcocks wife, Tabatha, was giving different stories and did not appear cooperative, Lockhart said.

(1,401 posts)Stevie Wonder could see this is not a good guy with a gun; LEO status not withstanding. Typical domestic in that once other LEO arrived on the scene the spouse refused to cooperate. Really surprised he was not shot when he pointed a weapon at the deputies if what the news report states is accurate. Unfortunantly, the media has an extensive track record of getting basic facts wrong or making stuff up in order to get a story out. IF the facts are as reported he should be convicted and be permanently disqualified from LEO empoyment or firearms ownership for life.
