Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumOn processed pork shoulder meat in a can, and why we're getting it:
As a counter to embarassment. A widespread, yet unacknowledged, embarrassment
about being fooled - because some so wanted to believe something was true
they left healthy skepticism behind.
Embarassment over being taken in by a fake PSA, and not realizing it was staged
even as some GC&RKBA regulars recognized that it was phony:

The alert reader will note that many of the other group's stalwarts (including
a rather outspoken host, who also recommended it) got taken in:

Seems none of the folks that were so impressed a few months ago care to discuss it
now. Posting here at GC&RKBA, now, would be a natural occasion for some
inconvenient questions.
Now we are (again) getting hit and run posts, and posts from members who have rarely, if ever,
posted here before.
I find that rather interesting...

(16,974 posts)the crickets are out in force. I do not think I have seen one comment from that crowd on the lie of that event after it was exposed, let alone a post in the "safe haven".

(12,194 posts)Seeing as its this same bunch that tries to shame pro-2a/rkba posters ceaselessly.
In my mind, this begs a question:
Hows that shaming working out for you?

Indeed. I had noticed that as well, and I'll just bet we aren't the only ones.
Diversionary grooming, it seems.
Personally, I think habitual drive-by posters, that habitually wont engage in dialogue within the very threads they post, make DU suck. Its a discussion board not a dictation board. Well, outside of the other group, anyway.
On edit: I'd be very interested to see the results of a poll in GD asking this:
Do driveby posters that habitually post drivebys and refuse to engage in discussion within their own threads make DU suck?

(5,046 posts)When your core beliefs are "faith based" You absolutely cannot allow anyone to challenge you, on any level..
To allow this to happen, the core beliefs will be exposed for what they are, shameless lies, .. Sort of like that "gun store" in New York... totaly exposed as BS....
This is why they hide behind locked doors, too keep out the light of truth, too keep away the "hard questions" that the "Doctrine of Bloomberg" cannot answer...
I say let them have their church... It's mere existence tells most people all they need to know about the bankrupt gun control movement:
"We must be protected, because we cannot adequately defend our beliefs in a fair, open discussion, we can only discuss our ideas, and goals in a way that no one will be allowed to challenge them. Your cooperation in this is mandatory, we know what is best for you and our movement."
That is what I think of when I think of that forum.

(19,497 posts)their every action is calculated to do nothing more than antagonize while refusing to embrace opportunities for consensus. I'm referring to my OP a few days ago wherein I discussed genuine efforts to reduce unnecessary deaths. Not one poster from the Controller side had any comment; good, bad or in-between.
If they truly wanted peace they would act like it. If they truly want only control they would act like it -- and they do.

(2,375 posts)Yeah sure.......our heads just explode when The Controllers play their infantile guilt and shaming game!
Edited to add: One of the primary rules of warfare is to know (understand) your enemy. As always, the incredible intellectual laziness of The Controllers bites them right in the crotch. Example #783 of why we can put a fork in "gun control".

(18,318 posts)is because the controllers have given up on any hope for gun control within the political and judicial realm, and are in full-fledged agit-prop mode; I mean ANYTHING goes.
I've said it before, but the only strong suit (and it is still significant) the controller/banners have is being positioned in high, decision-making bureaucracies. Whether it is in DU, or the WaPo, MSM in general, some Northern city bureaus, and a few "research institutes," there seems to be an understanding that this is genuine culture war, and you are to 'never give a inch.'
I'm still amazed that this group has not been summarily banned fom DU.

(1,401 posts)Given the rulings in Heller and McDonald, the expansion of legal carry in more states and recent polling results the Culture War against firearms ownership is failing badly.
