Minnesota Senate passes bill broadening use of deadly force in self defense

The measure would broaden the definition of where people could use deadly force to defend themselves outside their homes, eliminating a requirement that they retreat first if possible. It also would force Minnesota to recognize firearm permits from states that oftentimes have lower standards for providing them and would bar police from confiscating weapons during states of emergencies.

It's now up to Gov Dayton to sign or veto. He has stated that when a resident of the Twin Cities, he kept guns for self defense in his home.

5. You mean every time a car threatens me on my bike, I can plug 'em? Cool!

For decades that's seemed like the most appropriate, most effective response. Great to hear that it's legal in at least one state.

I find that having my pistol attached to my handle bars helps people be more friendly to me. I lose a pound of weight and I've made up for the weight of my little LCP so I have no problem "lugging" it around.

What is your handle over at the BF?

Because every one of your dire predictions about "blood running in the streets" and everything else has been proven wrong, with the violent crime rate plummeting even as gun laws have been relaxed all across the country.

CZ-82 in 9mm Makarov. What I'm really saving my pennies for is the upcoming gun show in Tulsa next month. Biggest gun show in the world. With any luck, I'll find a really cherry Nazi-marked French M1935A, an Italian Model 00 flare gun, and a French model 1950 9mm.
