Houston woman is chased down with gun, called racial slurs for honking at man

The man was arrested by Harris County Sheriff's deputies and charged with aggravated assault.

A woman was chased down by a man she honked back at while driving in the Houston area in an intense road rage incident on Tuesday, according to a report from ABC 13 Houston. The woman, who did not disclose her identity, told the station that she and the man, who was driving behind her, were stopped at a red light in northeast Harris County near Humble. When the light turned green, the man honked at her. She honked back and that's when the man brandished a gun, followed her and rear-ended her car with his vehicle.

"That's when I just took off, speeding to a gas station to a public area, because I had already seen that gun in the car," the woman told ABC 13. "So I didn't want to just pull over like a regular car accident."

The man continued to follow her into a convenience store in Humble. Footage obtained by ABC 13 from the Phillips 66 gas station, located at the intersection of Atascocita Road and Wilson Road, captured the man pointing his gun at her as she tried to get away from him. When she tried to leave, the man stopped her and tried to take the keys out of her car, she told ABC 13. He then once again hit the back of her car, which she said was his attempt to block her from leaving the parking lot. During the incident, the man also allegedly shouted racial slurs at her.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) responded to the scene and arrested the man who has been identified at 30-year-old Kevin Roth, ABC 13 reported. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He bonded out of jail on Wednesday afternoon. The HCSO told ABC 13 he had not had any prior offenses, other than minor traffic violations.
